Alternative Culture of North East India

Beyond the sound, the lifestyle, and the ethos of an international culture that wears the moniker "Alternative" are the people and their faces; unfiltered, authentic and independent.

Alternative culture, often found in music and extending outwards into fashion and even politics, this culture exists outside or on the fringes of mainstream or popular culture, often signifying an act of defiance, resilience, individuality and identity.

The North-Eastern region of India has always been a hot-bed for alternative culture among youth since the early formative days of the mainstream domestic media and youth culture, but often overshadowed by the major cities
