series parallel to “Dreams”. Intended to be released upon completion in both book & print form as a limited print run.

Both of the series are co-related and together form a complete body of work.

Identities, is a series of 10 distinct self-portraitures, with each individual portraits having two supplementing photographs.

This series is a very personal series, I try to explore the concept of personal identity and Individuality in a more unrestricted form, with a more subjective & psychological approach based on personal experiences, observations and studies rather than defining or exploring the concept of identity conventionally, outside of societal and communal construct. Based on the concept of individuality and works of C.J Jung. With this series I try to visually explore what constructs an identity outside of external governing factors, skin, kin and belonging.

It is rather an observation on emotion, experience, morality and choices that we make that constitutes in formation of our true self, stripped out of superficialities like gender, ethnicity, color, community or nationality.

Personal Identity as a result and the process of self realisation, discovery and experience of meaning and purpose in life; integration of selves by which one finds oneself and becomes who one really is.

Acceptance, Conflict, crisis; femininity, masculinity, the androgyny; death, rebirth and residue.

These are some of the things that construct and constitute the true identity of a human persona.

Although it is based on personal experiences and self, but I believe the work should resonate universally for all human beings.
